DISTRICT COUNCILLOR ANGIE DALE
2017 - the year just gets better. Appointed as chairman of Richmondshire District Council. What an honour.
2016- what a year. I would just like to wish everyone a happy new year. I hope you all have a wonderful 2017.
Last year was so busy. I have been running afternoon teas with a core group of volunteers and raised in excess of £7000 for local causes. Also been really busy getting grants for the village hall with Helen Grant. We have achieved a YORKWASTE bid which paid for refurbishment of the back room new storage cupboards. We also did an Awards for All Grant/Community Opportunity Fund applications which paid for new flooring. On top of that we had new doors and toilets (including disabled toilets) also fire doors through the Locality Budget of Helen Grant.
Heavily involved involved with Colburn Community Primary School as chair of governors - fantastic progress this year for our lovely school. We were delighted!
In my role as cheif cook and bottle washer at the Colburn Community Cafe we have seen it thrive, always one to advertise it - opening hours are Tuesday and Thursday 12-1pm pop in for a 2 course meal and cuppa for a mere £3.50. Best of all a warm welcome accompanies this.
On going involvement about the removal of car parking charges at Hildyard Row = I strongly recommend that people let their views be known by contacting Richmondshire district council asap on 01748 829100.
To top off the wonderful year it was amazing to see the second village hall christmas dinner thrive and be supported by residents both of Colburn the wider area. What a day that was!
Looking forward to doing lots more in 2017.
